Rustins Boiled Linseed Oil is used for finishing most bare timber.
It replaces the natural sheen that wood can lose after long periods of drying in the sun.
Boiled linseed oil contains special additives which speed the drying process and increase the hardness of the film.
It can also be used for waterproofing groundsheets and tarpaulins.
Before application, ensure that the surface to be oiled is clean and dry. Apply with a rag or brush and wipe off excess with a dry rag or cloth. Apply 2 – 3 coats initially. Recoat once the oil has dried.
Coverage is approx 11- 14 square metres per litre per coat, depending on the absorbency of the wood.
Surfaces treated with Boiled Oil can be cleaned with a damp cloth.
Please note that boiled linseed oil is not suitable for oiling furniture or wooden floors. For furniture use Rustins Danish Oil or Teak Oil. For floors use Rustins Floor Oil.
Rustins Boiled linseed oil is available in 125ml, 300ml, 500ml, 2L, 4L and 25L containers.
