Rustins Quick Drying Primer and Undercoat is for use on interior and exterior work.
Used as a primer, it is suitable for new and bare wood, MDF, plaster, brickwork and cement. The paint has high opacity and can be used as an undercoat on primed or painted surfaces.
Formulated with waterborne acrylic emulsion, pigments and extenders to provide excellent opacity, Rustins Quick Drying Primer and Undercoat may be overcoated with water or solvent-based finishing paints. Not to be used for priming metal.
During preparation, surfaces to be coated must be clean, dry and free from wax, grease and contaminants. When priming bare wood, knots must be sealed with Rustin’s Knotting.
As an undercoat over existing paint, the surface must be cleaned and lightly sanded to provide a key before application.
Apply liberally and evenly with a synthetic fibre brush or roller. For brush application, if necessary, the primer coat may be thinned by mixing five parts with one part water. Do not thin when applying as an undercoat.
A minimum of two coats are required. Touch dry within 30 minutes, depending on temperature and humidity. Can be re-coated after a minimum of two hours. Do not use below 10°C or in conditions of high humidity.
Coverage is approximately 13 sq.m per litre, 1 coat, depending on the absorbency of the surface.
Rustins Quick Dry White Primer/Undercoat is sold in 250ml, 500ml, 1L and 2.5L containers.
