- Two-Pack Epoxy Resin
- Helps Avoid Cost & Disruption
- Deep-Penetrating Resin
- Meets Stringent Industrial Demands
- Ideal For Automotive, Factory and Warehouse Areas
- No Shrinkage On Curing
- Clear Gloss Finish
Resutop Binder is a low viscosity, two-pack epoxy resin for defective concrete flooring or sand and cement screeds.
It helps avoid the costs and disruption of screed replacements thanks to the deep-penetrating resin and is capable of meeting the stringent industrial demands required for such systems.
Ideal for food processing and beverage areas, chemical plant rooms, engineering workshops, automotive and aviation areas or factory units and warehouses.
There is no shrinkage on curing and the resin has an excellent, hard-wearing finish that is hygienic and easily cleaned.
Recoating can take place after six hours or once surface has lost tackiness. For light traffic areas, it will take between 12-16 hours and 24-36 hours for full traffic areas. A full chemical cure will take seven days.
Theoretical coverage rate is 23.2m2 @ 200 microns wet for 5kg.

Surface Preparations
New concrete must be clean, sound, dry, fully cured and surface laitance removed by vacuum enclosed shot blasting or mechanical grinding, a minimum strength of 25N/mm2 is required.
For existing concrete floors, remove all dirt, oil, grease, old paint or any other surface contaminants by vacuum enclosed shot blasting, scarifying or mechanical grinding.
Fats, oils or greases must be removed by mechanical means and detergent washing and make sure all residue of detergent is washed and removed by rinsing with clean water.
Previously coated floors should have all previous coatings and loose floor paints removed by mechanical preparation.
If the old resin flooring cannot be removed, then please consult with our technical team for advice on intercoat adhesion and suitability, as it may not be compatible with existing floor coating.
Where Resutop Binder is applied to masonry/concrete surfaces, care must be taken to ensure that surface preparation is thorough but does not disfigure the surface.
Application
The ambient temperatures of the areas should not be allowed to fall below 15C throughout the application and the curing period, as this could have an adverse effect on the appearance and colour of the system. Surface temperature must be above 10oC.
Where possible, it is recommended that the application area is heated to a minimum temperature of 15C ideally to allow the ambient and substrate temperature to stabilise prior to installation.
Pre-mix the base component to a uniform consistency then mix the entire contents of the base with the hardener.
If a separate mixing bucket is being used, mix thoroughly ensuring all contents of both components are removed from the buckets supplied.
Using a slow speed electric mixer, mix for approximately two minutes or until the two components have fully combined.
The mixed unit should be applied immediately by squeegee, roller or brush with a consistent procedure.
Floor areas should be cross-rolled to ensure even application and to minimise roller marks.
The product may be poured onto the floor in small pools and immediately rolled evenly over the surface and allowed to penetrate.
While the product is penetrating into the screed, keep rolling fresh material over the surface until it is visibly obvious that penetration is ceasing and a slight surface residue remains.
Allow to cure overnight at 20C then the screed may be recovered with a resin topping, tiles or carpeting, etc, and put back into use.
Coverage rates will depend on porosity of the substrate. Typically on failed concretes 5kgs of Resutop Binder covers around 10m2.
NOTE: Applied coating should be protected from moisture during application and during the curing period. Exposure to moisture during this time can cause surface and colour variations.
